Expo Riva buyers get on
their deck shoes
Some lucky buyers attending the 2006 Expo Riva Schuh footwear show in
Trentrino, Italy this June enjoyed a welcome break from the exhibition
halls in the cool of Riva del Garda's marina courtesy of Da Sing Shoes.
"The Hong Kong-based company enterprisingly commandeered a luxury yacht
for the show. 'Everyone swapped desk shoes for desk shoes," joked
managing director David Brook.
'It's tough work doing the rounds of exhibitions in the summer heat so we
thought cocktails on the poop desk would be appreciated by our
customers," he added.
'We had no shortage of customers keen to join us for refreshments in
these lovely surroundings."
Founded in 2004 by Brook and Eric Tse, Da Sing provides a direct, bespoke
service, covering the design, China-based manufacture, quality control
and shipping of women's, teens, and children's shoes and accessories to
major retail groups, catalogue and online retail customers.
David Brook was pleased with the opportunity afforded by 2006 Expo Riva
Schuh to interact with customers. "It's still an ideal venue to combine
business and pleasure and our venture into participation has been an
outright success," he says.
Organisers reported an 8% increase in attendance in this year's show,
with over 10,000 professional visitors viewing Spring/Summer 2007
collections from 1061representing 35 countries.
Increases have been put down to heightened promotion of the event in
Brasil, China, Dubai and India.
