Festival crowds cool it at QD

Kristian Timbrell (centre) and the QD Grays crew needed cold drinks after blowing this lot up!

Crowds attending last week’s Grays Street Festival in Essex chilled soon enough –all thanks to their local QD Store!

As temperatures soared on the high street, visitors were grateful to pop into QD in the town’s shopping centre.

Manager Kristian Timbrell and his team were on hand dispensing cold drinks from outside the store as everyone watched on as a hilarious blend of music and comedy paraded past.

QD Staff had been out early handing out leaflets, balloons and sweets to members of the public, also giving them a great opportunity to take in the atmosphere.

“The street entertainers were all local professionals and the parade was varied to say the least including the World’s Smallest Theatre, Mad Professors, an Asian dancing troop, Godzilla and Punch and Judy!” laughs Kristian.

“Loads of people came and visited us not just for the drinks – which we had priced very low for the day – but because we had ten percent off in-store and even bigger discounts on outdoor toys as part of the day’s celebrations, too,” he says.

“One customer told me she hadn’t been to QD for many years but had spent over £100 that day. She said she was coming back to purchase some furniture, which was nice!”
