Award winning UV curing
innovator shows at FESPA 2009
Three live applications
of different and ground-breaking UV curing systems for wide format
digital inkjet printing technologies are a feature of award-winning UK
innovator Integration Technology Ltd (ITL)'s stand (F100, Hall 1) at
FESPA 2009 in Amsterdam, 12th - 14th May.
The principal feature of
the stand will be ITL's new Solidcure™ range.
Solidcure™ represents the
very latest generation of semiconductor light matrix technology using UV
emitting LED's.
Specifically designed for inkjet curing applications, the class leading
compact footprint and ultra light weight of Solidcure™ is combined with
high intensity output to allow for the creation of miniature UV inkjet
systems.
Intense commitment to R&D has positioned the ITL brand globally as a
byword in innovation and quality.
Founded in 2000, the company designs and assembles a range of highly
compact, ultra lightweight, modular ultra-violet (UV) curing solutions
for a variety of inkjet and industrial applications at its headquarters
near Oxford, UK.
The company, which last month won the 2009 Queens's Award for
International Trade, serves the industry's foremost printer manufacturers
including the major OEMs, integrators and system developers.
ITL is providing FESPA 2009 visitors with a comprehensive update on
developments to its range.
On show will be a wide range of lamp heads, power supply solutions,
cassettes, bulbs and cables in addition to working solution-specific
applications of the company's designs.
A Comor digital printer fitted with ITL's SubZero 085 System will be
printing on plastic rulers. A digital web printer running new Solidcure™
will be demonstrating LED curing capabilities on temperature-sensitive
plastics.
A conveyor fitted with HP heads and Imtech UV technology will be printing
bar codes and variable data using differing UV sources in ITL's VZero,
SubZero, MZero and Solidcure™ solutions.
VZero was ITL's launch product and it remains one of the most effective,
high output, high quality UV emitters for its size on the market today.
The VZero is configured for a variety of inkjet and industrial
applications including large and grand format inkjet printers.
The Sub Zero range is currently the leading selling UV inkjet system and
is suitable for OEMs developing medium format printers and marking and
encoding applications using 20mm inkjet heads. With a reduced footprint
and ultra-light weight, it offers the most effective, lightweight, high
output, miniature UV emitter on the market.
ITL has increased the scope of the SubZero with the introduction of the
SubZero Pinning range, in both shuttered and non-shuttered versions. The
low power output of the lamphead is designed to partially "pin" the ink
between inkjet heads before a full UV cure is applied after the end of
the printing process. In order to reduce splash back UV onto the print
heads the SubZero Pinning range can also be supplied complete with the
proven SubZero integral high-speed electronic shutter.
The MZero represents the smallest and lightest UV systems available
today, offering a highly versatile and cost effective solution for small
format printers, coding and marking and small scale industrial
applications. The range is suitable also for marking and encoding (bar
codes, date codes, product I.D. etc.), small area printing (e.g. wine
bottle caps) and the manufacture of contact lenses and other optical
products.
Also in the range, PZero was originally conceived for applications where
partial (low power) curing might be required mid-process. New market
applications such as digital web printing demonstrate growing potential
for the solution.
ITL's UK operation is complemented by its regional offices in the USA
(its largest market with a 65% share of global sales), China and Korea
whilst access to the Japanese market is provided through a distribution
relationship with a major local supplier.
Senior representatives from ITL's global operations will be attending
this year's FESPA including:
David Johnson, Director Global Accounts; Adrian Lockwood, CEO; Jason
Smith, CTO; Geoff Knibb, Operations Director; Simon Gibbs, European
Business Development Manager; Jennifer Heathcote, General Manager - North
America; and Lewis Jun, Korean Business Development Manager.
Also on the ITL stand will be Kenji Takamur from Neopt Corporation
(Japan) and Bob Deets of Comor Digital.
