Project: Launch of UK's first Parisian-style restaurant vessel


Glass-roofed restaurant boats are a memorable characteristic of the Seine in Paris and a must-do for visitors to the city. When Bateaux London opened on the Thames, the French-owned company decided to bring the homeland experience to Britain's capital.

The introduction of the concept was an exciting prospect: no-one had seen anything quite like the 'Symphony' on the Thames before.

Peter Muir Public Relations co-ordinated the vessel's official launch, attended by over 100 media representatives and garnering coverage in national press (The Observer, Mail on Sunday, Daily Express), radio (Classic FM, London locals) and many UK and overseas lifestyle/travel monthlies.

pmpr went on to represent Bateaux London and sister company Catamaran Cruisers for a further two years, in which time we also handled PR for the opening of Embankment Pier (where the two are headquartered) and numerous events held on board the fleet.
