Running From The Human Race
(Ayers)
Well, a man came knocking on my door
He was dressed in blue and six foot four
Stuck his fingers in my face
He said "I represent the human race"
Oh yeah
I said "Come on in, sit right down
You must be tired of running around
I've watched these races from within
But I never said you would win"
He said "oh yeah"
So he took a long drink and began to cry
He said "This ju-ju wine is much too dry
What I need is something sweet
To ease my pain and help me sleep"
Oh yeah
I said "Friend, don't be so glum
Push through the clouds and you'll find the sun
Push some more and you'll find its true
That the sun's right there inside of you."
He said "Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah"
Well, I haven't seen him since we met that day
I don't have any more to say
Let's raise our glasses to the sun
Drink to everyone
Yeah, oh yeah
