Norwich-based value retailer QD Stores ran on pooch power yesterday (Friday, June 20th) when this ‘Mutley’ crew helped out at the company’s Barrack Street head office.
It was all to celebrate ‘Take Your Dog to Work Day’ when canines join the commute with owners to the workplace.
“The day’s officially all about reducing stress and boosting staff satisfaction but we all love our pets here so we’ll seize any excuse to have them with us!”, says Darren Beard, QD’s deputy head buyer and responsible for pet products.
But then pets have become part of the business for the store operator, too.
Posh & Barks was launched last year targeting pampered pooches and complement Scallywags Pet Shops, the fast-growing in-store sales brand that’s also opened at a growing number of the QD Group’s Cherry Lane garden centre outlets.
Beds, foods, leads and toys are just some of the treats available for pets of all shapes and sizes, from wild birds and parrots to pussy cats and ponies, at stores operated by QD Commercial Holdings across the Eastern Counties and via its newly-launched e-commerce site at www.qdstores.co.uk
