Security for second Midlands retail centre to Premier
Security services for Nuneaton's Ropewalk Shopping Centre have been
newly-contracted to Leicester-based Premier, the second major retail
centre win in the city for the company.
Opened in 2005, Ropewalk provides 205,000 sq ft of retail space for over
30 retail units across two levels in Nuneaton's town centre with
multi-storey car parking comprising 525 spaces.
Under the new contract award, the Centre's existing staff of five
contract security officers will transfer to Premier under the Acquired
Rights Directive while additional support personnel are to be recruited
to enhance contract performance.
As part of the mobilisation process, Premier is developing a training
programme covering customer service, control and restraint, public space
CCTV and physical skills training, specially aligned to the individual
needs of shopping centre.
Newly-merged into the Regent Samsic Group, Premier is a fast-expanding
provider in the Midlands, only last month (October) adding Nuneaton's 33
retail unit Abbeygate Shopping Centre to its portfolio.
Premier is also to raise levels of training to the existing and new
Abbeygate security team whilst managing day to day security operations
within the shopping centre.
Director Andrew Hallam commented: "We're delighted to have been awarded a
second shopping centre contract in as many months.
"Ropewalk highlights our strengths in this challenging customer-facing
sector and we are looking forward to working with centre manager John
Kelleher and the retailers to optimising the safety and security of the
environment for all its users".
