NVQ training starts for Regent London area
Regent Cleaning personnel working on London-area contracts have embarked
on National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Levels 1 and 2 training.
Over 50 members of national contractor Regent Cleaning staff are
benefitting from NVQ training in Cleaning and Support Services, Team
Leading and Facilities Management, Administration and Customer Services
after Regent won funding for 600 employees with B-Skill.
The cleaners work contracts on behalf of clients IKEA Wembley, IKEA
Croydon, British Airways (BA) World Cargo (pictured), BA Cranebank,
Brooklands College and Bancroft's School.
"This is a really positive response to the NVQ offer and we are
extremely pleased with the level of interest achieved," says Regent
Cleaning divisional director Stuart Lunt.
Training will be carried out on site, each level taking around twelve
weeks to complete.
"This is a scheme we hope to offer in the future to more Regent
personnel," adds Stuart, who joins Regent to head up its London office
from ISS where he was operations director for the north east.
Meanwhile, Regent cleaners at IKEA Wembley are patting themselves on the
back after scoring 96% in an independent audit of service standards.
"It's a great achievement," says Stuart, who points out that a similar
audit in October last year scored in the late 20's by comparison.
"We had a big challenge when we won this contract effective in October
2010 so the first task was to gain a true understanding of the
environment and develop a closer working relationship with the client
and its staff and their exact needs''
Increased supervision ratios, on-job training and real time quality
monitoring together with a change in cleaning operational hours have all
combined to enable closer interaction with IKEA co-workers and the
public, contributing to a markedly improved service offer, Stuart adds.
