Thanks to a major online investment, distributor Janitorial Direct has landed a first order to supply Prochem cleaning technology to fast-growing customer, Mark 1 Hire.
When the Essex-based tool and equipment hire company, with depots in Southend, Rayleigh and Chelmsford, decided to replace its supplier of cleaning machines, it went online to source solutions.
The search process introduced the company to Prochem via the newly-revamped web site of its Kidderminster-based distributor Janitorial Direct, where machinery sales supervisor Sophie Bale took on the enquiry.
“We’d recently revised our site to include added e-commerce capability,” she explains. “Consequently, we came up quickly in Mark 1’s search and when they got in contact we quickly identified solutions to their needs from the Prochem range.”
Mark 1 were impressed by the Steempro Powermax and Bravo Plus portable carpet & upholstery spot cleaning machine and Prochem Sales Manager, Phil Jones was soon visiting its head office in Rochford to demonstrate the machines’ capabilities.
“They liked the Bravo Plus because it’s simple for their consumer customers to use,” says Sophie. “There’s no set-up time and the machine is simple to unload and begin cleaning immediately. It’s really compact in size and manoeuvrable so it’s ideal for spotting and quick cleaning of small carpeted areas, upholstery and car interiors.”
Mark 1 have ordered three Bravo Plus machines to start with along with a Steempro Powermax. The ideal high power carpet extractor for the single operator, the Powermax incorporates a large 35 litre solution tank in a compact body design for maximum efficiency and portability.
With an internal “whisper quiet” silencer and upright mounted motors with exclusive intercooler unit the Steempro Powermax represents the state-of-the-art in professional carpet soil extractors, yet is still manageable for a hire customer to use.
Janitorial Direct expect further orders from Mark 1 Hire to supply more of its depots. The company has been trading for 27 years within the domestic and commercial cleaning supplies sector and today supplies a range of over 4000 product lines to a diversity of customers from domestic users to businesses and local authorities.
In addition to regional sales to universities, schools and leisure environments, it ships throughout the UK and exports to Ireland, Europe, UAE and as far as Australia. This broadening of reach is put down to Janitorial Direct’s investment in telesales and online.
“We are also lucky to be able to offer brilliant customer service and advice from a well trained and committed telephone support team,” says Managing Director Julian Gaze. “Sophie and the team underpin the regional and national existing customer base and the increasing internet-focused business. Prochem Europe is an established supplier to Janitorial Direct.
“We have strong demand for Prochem as a brand,” adds Julian. “We stock the full range of chemicals solutions and the company’s cleaning extractors sell very well.”
