UV LED curing showcased at Flexo & Labels, Brazil

The growing benefits of UV LED curing in flexo label printing are showcased by Integration Technology (ITL) at the Flexo & Labels show at Pro-Magno, São Paulo, Brazil this month (March 19th-21st  2019; Booth 05a).

With plants in the UK, Germany, and China, ITL and parent IST-Metz are the world’s largest UV technology manufacturer, employing over 600 personnel world-wide and with local market operations in 17 countries including Brazil and Columbia.

With installations running on over 2,500 narrow web flexo and digital label presses worldwide, ITL and IST offer an unmatched range of UV curing solutions for label printing available to readily install onto new presses and retrofit onto existing machines.

Examples on display at the Flexo & Labels exhibition range from entry level air-cooled UV LED solutions for flexo, offset and screen, up to the new LEDcure SCR, specially-designed for retrofit onto rotary offset and flexo presses printing in excess of 200m/min.

Also featured is the IST MBS system with a ‘hot swap’ capability enabling any station to be changed from traditional UV arc to UV LED in minutes by simply changing over the lamp cassette, while retaining the same housing, cooling and control system for both technologies.

Live demonstration

A further attraction to Booth 05a; in conjunction with local partners, ITL will be delivering hourly live demonstrations of UV LED curing of both flexo and inkjet inks for label printing using a Rochaflex 4-colour press equipped with DeConto variable data inkjet printing.

The 160mm common impression machine will be fitted with ITL air-cooled LED technology comprising inter-colour curing after colours 1, 2 and 3, with a final cure after colour 4 and the digital station using the company’s proven VZR system.

“We first showcased ITL & IST UV LED products for label printing in Brazil at the Sao Paulo ExpoPrint show in 2018 and are very pleased to be bringing an ever wider offering to the 2019 Flexo and Label show” says ITL LAM Business Development manager, Cristiano Jory.

“ITL LAM is unique in being the only supplier of UV LED technology to offer full local technical as well as sales support”

Integration Technology Limited (ITL) was founded in 2000 to develop novel UV curing solutions for emerging markets. The company’s early pioneering UV Arc solutions for InkJet printing quickly dominated the wide format graphics industry. Being at the forefront of the digital revolution, ITL’s R&D centre quickly embraced the concept of using semi-conductors as a light source and have been developing UV LED technology since 2002, resulting in ITL holding some of the earliest patents well pre-dating the commercialisation of this process.

Having worked in partnership since 2011, in 2015 Integration Technology became part of the Metz Holding Group alongside IST Metz, enabling ITL and IST together to offer the world’s largest portfolio of UV curing solutions. Based in Oxfordshire, UK, the company serves the industry’s foremost OEMs, integrators and system developers with support from its regional offices in Europe, the USA, South America and Asia.

ITL has recently seen significant growth in demand for its series of class leading UV LED solutions in many print and industrial sectors including inks, coatings, adhesives and electronics.

ITL serves the foremost industry OEMs, integrators and advanced manufacturing technology developers around the world, supported by direct regional offices in Europe, North America, Latin America and the Far East. The company operates a flexible business model offering everything from fully configured solutions through to core technology components and product licensing.
