Law firm resolves
meeting room needs in regional office fit-out
International law firm Eversheds has successfully met a need to blend new
presentation technology into bespoke meeting room furniture within its
relocation of 700 Leeds office staff from two buildings to a single,
brand new 120,000 sq ft space at the Bridgewater Place development, the
city’s tallest building.
Business interiors specialist Workscape recommended VERCO Office
Furniture to make and supply a total of 22 purpose-built conference
tables, with 25 matching credenza units capable of taking cable
management, with matching cut out in the tops for access to power for
power point presentations.
Chippenham-based Workscape had previously worked on a similar sized
design and fit-out for Eversheds’ Cardiff office.

On this occasion, it provided the law firm’s Leeds office with a turnkey
service involving interior design, establishing building services,
developing and implementing office space plans, sourcing furniture and
equipment and managing the move process of partners, lawyers and business
services staff to the new location.
"Workspace played an invaluable role in helping us develop space plans
from an initial open plan brief into a practical, innovative and flexible
working environment," says Eversheds FM Paul Heinicke.

That flexibility was particularly important given that the firm’s lawyers
had previously enjoyed the privacy of cellular office accommodation.
"We had a good idea of the type of meeting room furniture we needed to
complement our client meeting room areas," says Paul.
He discussed these with Workscape to help build a brief to take to
market. Several manufacturers capable of providing the bespoke furniture
were short-listed.
Paul Heinicke attended a meeting with VERCO management at High Wycombe
and the company was duly appointed.

The VERCO tables have maple
veneer tops with 110mm walnut edge band and 5mm inlays on walnut aerofoil
bases; the matching credenza units are also in maple and walnut. The
furniture was made in a range of bespoke sizes with the largest table
measuring 8750mm long x 2000mm wide.
"We chose VERCO ahead of other more prominent firms in the bespoke office
furniture market and have not regretted the decision," says Paul.
"We felt very confident that they had the expertise and capability to
meet our needs and were also prepared to be flexible to ensure that any
design changes could accommodated as our ideas developed.

"As the project progressed we determined that we needed additional
bespoke furniture items and went to VERCO for these also. We have been
more than happy with their service and quality of product."
