VERCO scores record
visitors to Design Prima 2008
Latest designs from Roger Webb and Simon Pengelly drew record numbers of
specifiers and dealers to VERCO's stand at June's premier UK showcase for
office furniture, Design Prima.
"We had a fabulous show with three times the number of visitors to the
stand compared to last year's show," says sales and marketing director
Chris Riley.

DNA 'star turn'
At the forefront of the movement to reducing the overall furniture
'footprint' by better integrating storage into workstations, Webb
Associates' innovative furniture system, DNA proved VERCO's 'star turn'
at Design Prima.
DNA offers a new and ground-breaking solution for both collaborative and
individual work with a design proposition that won it numerous plaudits
at the show.
"We're bringing storage back into the workstation as an equal partner
within a package offering the ultimate in style and adaptability in
configuration and use," explains VERCO sales and marketing director Chris
Riley.
"With DNA, your workstation can be free-standing. It can be within a
free-address bench system, or it can combined with storage, letting the
more open elements provide extra surfaces and screens.

Individual user areas can be defined within the workstation naturally,
with no need for additional division screens to provide personal
workspace demarcation.
"Cost comes down further with the lower footprint of DNA's storage
requirement reducing the office's overall furniture footprint," Chris
adds.
DNA employs high-pressure die-cast aluminium leg frames connected to
simple steel rails to form a framework for work surfaces that provides
robust support but with a clean, light and spacious aesthetic.
Work surfaces, with radius corners soften the work environment and are
available in wood veneer, laminate, MFC or glass.

Roger Webb's clean, understated design is maintained through to the first
and second level storage options which integrate with worktops, helping
to define work territory and provide easy desk level storage, as well as
providing a useful privacy barrier for individual users.

The open plan dynamic of the bench system concept can be extended to
storage 'spine' workstation arrangements, which provide excellent 'local'
storage solutions and good definition via integrated, low-level storage
and screening, as well as making a strong visual statement.
Says Chris Riley: "DNA is at the forefront of an important, emergent
development in office furniture and the market response to it has been
uniformly enthusiastic - even excited."
ALSO ON SHOW…

Song
Another draw to VERCO at Design Prima was Simon Pengelly's Song seating
solutions, a compact, medium back tub chair on wire or swivel base
frames. Inspired by pure creativity, the simplicity and beauty of Song
shines through.
Together with big brother Dance (due to be launched next January), it
offers bags of engagingly '60s retro chic. Simple in form yet forging a
strong visual statement, both offer supreme comfort for all users of
'break-out' and visitor areas.
Elegant yet comfortingly supportive, Song and Dance can provide a touch
of luxury and effortless beauty in the office or public environment.

Vibe
If DNA sought a natural seating partner at Design Prima, it was VERCO's
new task and managerial seating offer, Vibe.
Another Roger Webb design, this programme of ergonomically advanced and
sophisticated chairs comes with a gentle environmental footprint.
Utilising recycled materials wherever possible, the chair components can
themselves be recycled at the chair's 'end of life'.
When worn or damaged, Vibe's upholstery can be removed and replaced,
prolonging the chair's life and increasing its overall environmental
sustainability.
Ease of adjustability, pleasing lines, generous seat proportions, coupled
to careful tailoring reflect the refined nature of Vibe and the high
levels of comfort it affords.
Chairs offer a sophisticated synchronised mechanism, with side tension
adjustment and feature a simple ratchet back height adjustment and seat
depth adjustment as standard. The sculptured seat back provides the
optimum levels of ergonomic support and comfort, while the option of
refined multi-function arms provide the discerning client high levels of
specification, flexibility and comfort.
Available with full plastic shell, fully upholstered or with a coolly
stylish show wood outer back with a wide range of fabric and hide
finishes, Vibe is suited to almost any environment.
Further evidence of VERCO's continued broadening of its product offer is
anticipated post-Design Prima.
"The event proved a perfect showcase for reflecting our commitment to
define the culture and values of our products through qualities of
simplicity, sophistication, performance and affordability," says Chris
Riley.
